“MONTAGE - Blink & Baked Stretch”

ISSEY MIYAKE 's Autumn/Winter 2019 season theme is “Chain of Inspiration.” One chance inspiration leads to the next, and while enjoying the adventure that this progression invites, we take on the challenge of new possibilities for "a piece of cloth".
In this exhibition, we will focus on the colourful patterned “MONTAGE” series that was born from this process, and you will see clothes created with two types of techniques; new materials “Blink” and “Baked Stretch”. In addition, we will exhibit the tools used by the craftsmen for each textile made at the factory in Kyoto, and introduce a part of the manufacturing process.
