“GOOD GOODS -WAKU-”
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO presents KURA Exhibition “GOOD GOODS −WAKU–.”
GOOD GOODS −WAKU–
GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE is a shop that has a selection of “good things,” mainly small items, selected from each brand handled by ISSEY MIYAKE. It is also a center of manufacturing that creates new “good things.”
In this exhibition, we will introduce the WAKU bag created by GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE.
The feature of “WAKU” is its skeleton, the shape of the black lines that form the “frame.” This is inspired by the “truss structure” often used in architecture, such as towers, bridges, and ceiling beams.
A “truss structure” is a structural form in which triangles are continuously combined, and the force applied to the vertices is distributed to each side to maintain stability.By applying this structure, “WAKU” has become a lightweight bag that can stand on its own. In addition to being functional, it is also visually pleasing.
At the exhibition, you can see installations and image videos that express the uniqueness of WAKU.
