“Flowers and Vases”
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO presents KURA Exhibition “Flowers and Vases.”
HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE presented its SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTION "Flowers and Vases" at La Poste du Louvre in Paris on Thursday, 23 June 2022. The collection looks at elements inspired by delicate flowers and robust vases, and explores the contrast between the two. The exhibition introduces the world of the collection through the collection video and backstage photographs.
The show was directed by Rachid Ouramdane, the director of Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, and featured a cast of models, performers, and members of the collective of acrobats, Compagnie XY, conveying the duality present in the collection in a performance that is both still and dynamic, steady and swift. In addition to the collection video, the backstage photographs showcase the garments in detail. Reflecting the collection, this exhibition looks at the design and making that explored the form and structure of flowers and vases: featuring curved and straight folds in the uniformly pleated fabric finished with twisting and layering garment constructions.
Experience the latest collection of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE in a space inspired by the ambiance and context of the show.
