Within the act of clothing the human body,
In the motion of a piece of cloth.

It is found within reach, and also somewhere far beyond,
In the past, in this very moment, as well as in the future.

Unbound by time and space and across history and cultures,
Exists a sense of beauty and strength (and of joy and hope).
There, we explore, feel, and grasp,
What has always been, nothing more and nothing less.

ENCLOTHE

A series of cloth items characterized by their bold silhouettes created from simple patterns that can be described as a single piece of cloth. The items are shaped by twisting and sewing together fabric without any processing as much as possible. The weft is made only from Japanese Washi paper, achieved through continuous development of Washi paper material. The warp is made from nylon and polyurethane stretch thread. This combines the unique feel of Washi paper with stretchiness that hugs the body. The ceramic clasps attached to the top, tunic, and skirt are inspired by stones taken from nature.
