“TADANORI YOKOO ISSEY MIYAKE”
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO presents KURA Exhibition “TADANORI YOKOO ISSEY MIYAKE.”
Mr Tadanori Yokoo, an artist who has led the times by constantly changing. In the new project “TADANORI YOKOO ISSEY MIYAKE” announced this autumn, Yoshiyuki Miyamae and his team will pursue the further possibilities of clothing based on the concept of A-POC, along with the overflowing energy of Yokoo's works.
A-POC is a distinctive ISSEY MIYAKE concept of manufacturing things through a unique process which, through an instruction given to each thread in the initial programming stage, completes a design whilst the fabric is created from the thread. The first outcome are blousons in which the latest technology is applied to reconstruct eight of Mr Yokoo’s iconic works on the back, giving the joy of looking at paintings with the fun of wearing clothes.
We hope our visitors will enjoy the world of A-POC’s making things by taking a look at the production process movie, and seeing the woven fabrics which display the individual component parts that make up the blouson.
